Barrister
Ashleigh graduated with a degree in Law with Business from the University of Birmingham. She was Called to the Bar in 2017 and joined Chambers following successful completion of her Pupillage under the Supervision of Stacy Payne (who now sits as a Circuit Judge) and Chris Sinever.
Ashleigh previously worked as a County Court Advocate, having attended over 2,000 hearings in that role. Before coming to the Bar, she also worked in the optical manufacturing sector as part of a family business, wherein a focus on customer satisfaction was essential.
She is known for her personable approach and commitment to delivering high standards of client care. Clients have particularly commended her ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
Ashleigh accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas including consumer credit, housing, debt recovery, insolvency and personal injury. She is experienced at all stage of litigation, from providing early advice and drafting pleadings through to advocacy at interlocutory and final hearings and on appeal.
Ashleigh has particular expertise in representing consumer finance lenders, especially in claims arising from commission-based sales models. She is regularly instructed by major banks and financial institutions and has a strong track record in arguments pertaining to limitation, compromise, liability, quantum and costs.
Her expertise also includes disputes arising from Consumer Credit Act agreements, including issues of enforceability and assignment. She has significant experience in enforcement proceedings, including applications for Orders for Sale.
Her property practice is substantial and encompasses housing disrepair, possession proceedings, tenancy deposit disputes and forfeiture claims. She also regularly represents clients in urgent injunction applications.
As to her personal injury practice, Ashleigh’s experience includes attendance at trials on liability arising from road traffic accidents and public liability claims, including those brought under the Highways Act 1980. She has a wealth of experience in advising on quantum and attendance at disposal hearings.
