Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Rights Civil Proceedings)

John’s practice encompasses all of Chambers’ Practice Areas and he is regularly instructed on matters in the High Courts and County Courts throughout England and Wales, by some of the largest law firms and financial institutions.

Before embarking on a legal career, John worked for nearly 20 years in the motor industry, including Ford Motor Company Limited and Lloyds Bank Dealer Finance, as well as within local business. He is now firmly settled in the North East of England. After completing a Graduate Diploma in Law, Bar Vocational Course and being called to the bar in 2008, John has represented claimants and defendants in a wide range of civil litigation in the County Courts, attending over 6,000 hearings; he cross qualified as a Solicitor in 2013, and spent some time in private practice in the North East. John obtained Higher Rights of Audience in Civil Proceedings in June 2021.

John also specialises in representing banks and creditors defended claims of mis-sold PPI, both at Dispute Resolution Hearings and Final Trial Stage.

Outside of work, John continues regularly to play football, and is also a keen cyclist around the waggonways of the North East, having covered over 6,000 miles in the last year.
