Mini-Pupillage at 25 Canada Square Chambers

Mini-Pupillage at 25 Canada Square Chambers

25 Canada Square Chambers has, since being founded, supported increased Accessibility to the Bar, which is one of the "Four Principles" of Bar training identified by the Bar Standards Board in the Authorisation Framework for AETOs. The other three principles are also strongly supported and embodied by Chambers - namely, High Standards, Affordability and Flexibility.

As part of fulfilling the principle of Accessibility, Chambers has offered - and continues to offer - mini-pupillage for eligible candidates. Mini-pupillage is a form of work experience, where a candidate can gain insight into life at the Bar through interactions with Counsel at 25 Canada Square Chambers. Amongst the varied experiences which previous mini-pupillages have provided, candidates have observed Counsel attending Court proceedings, discussed case strategy, undertaken mock drafting and advocacy exercises and received feedback thereon.

Mini-pupillage is not an essential requirement for any pupillage application to 25 Canada Square Chambers. Nevertheless, it provides valuable experience of the workings of Chambers and demonstrates a strong interest in our practice areas. Chambers adheres to the mandatory recruitment timetable (at Part 4C of the Bar Qualification Manual) for any pupillages offered. An overview of pupillage at 25 Canada Square Chambers can be found here and application tips for prospective pupillage (and by extension, mini-pupillage) applicants can be found here.

Those interested in undertaking a mini-pupillage at 25 Canada Square Chambers should email pupillage@25cschambers.co.uk with a copy of their CV and a Cover Letter which explains why they are interested in a mini-pupillage with Chambers, and outlines their availability for the upcoming 3 months.
