Martin Horne

Overview

Barrister

Martin has a busy practice encompassing all of Chambers’ areas of expertise.  He is regularly and repeatedly instructed on various and numerous matters by some of the most pre-eminent law firms and major financial institutions.

He represents either claimants or defendants at trial, on interim applications, in directions, costs and case management, dispute and alternative dispute resolution hearings.  He has appeared in person and/or remotely in the High Court, the County Court, the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and the Valuation Tribunal on appeal.

He has undertaken in excess of 3,000 hearings and mostly covers London and the Western circuits, although he has represented clients across all circuits in England and Wales.  He is an accredited mediator (Commercial and Civil).

Prior to joining Chambers as tenant he worked as an advocate with LPC Law after his postgraduate law conversion.  Before that he had a successful career in business and financial services.  After initial qualification as a Chartered Accountant, he later gained a Master’s degree in Business Administration, also achieved whilst working full-time. 

He is particularly suited to disputes concerning complex issues of fact and/or quantum.  He brings to bear thorough preparedness, exceptional client care, strong commercial acumen and outstanding advocacy.
